Tom Atkins, manager and broker-in-charge of The Rich Company is proud to announce that Jay Martin has been appointed broker-in-charge of their Downtown Washington office at 147 W. Main St.

Martin is a native North Carolinian who has invested more than a decade of his life here in Washington and is proud to call Beaufort County Home. Jay graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1984 and also received a masters of divinity in 1991. He wears both the hat of pastor and realtor and has found a wonderful complimentary balance in both vocations. He pastors Church of the Good Shepherd here in Washington and has worked out of the downtown office of The Rich Company since 2006. Martin has been a million-dollar producer consistently in this market and has served the Washington Beaufort County Board of Realtors as president in 2012. Martin loves being an agent in the purest sense of the word — serving his clients as he would folks in his church, with care, with undivided attention and with relentless pursuit of their best interests.

Martin and his wife Jeanne have four sons: two are Eagle Scouts and have attended UNC, and the younger two are following similar paths. Jeanne teaches nursing at Beaufort County Community College and both are very involved in community life and love to share the story of this magnificent corner of creation!
