WILBUR ERNEST DISHAROON

Dec. 14, 1922 – Nov. 10, 2014

 

Wilbur Ernest Disharoon, age 91, a resident of Roanoke River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Williamston, NC, and a former resident of Washington, NC, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014. Wilbur was born in Phoebus, VA on December 14, 1922 son of the late Ernest W. and Ethel Brinkley Disharoon. On January 21, 1949 he married Mary Helen Warfield who survives. Wilbur served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he worked as a building contractor.

In addition to his wife, Wilbur is survived by his daughters, Diana D. Eastman of Pawleys Island, SC and Mary D. Clark of Dover, DE; his son, Lawrence E. Disharoon of Davidsonville, MD; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by his son, Robert C. Disharoon.

A graveside celebration of his life with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 14, 2014 at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the home.
