CHARLOTTE UPTON

Aug. 20, 1939 – Nov. 21, 2014

 

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Known to her Washington family and friends as Charnick, Charlotte Nicholson Upton, passed away on November 21st in her home with her family. Although she left North Carolina in 1957, she always considered Washington her home, and the UNC Tar Heels her team.  She graduated from Washington High School, class of 1957. After twenty-two years of being a military wife and mother, Charnick and her family settled in Augusta, GA and where she enjoyed working with Dr. Barrett Trotter for 20 years.

Charlotte was born August 20, 1939 to Plummer A. Nicholson and Charlotte K. Nicholson. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Upton, sister, Blake Hodges, and brother, Nick Nicholson, children, Charlotte (Nicki) and Gary Peacock, Gary and Chantey Upton. Also, her grandchildren, Lee Peacock, Charlotte Peacock, Rebecca Bruni, Ellie Bruni, and John Bruni. And not to forget-her rescue dogs Mayce and Sassy!
In lieu of flowers, it would please her to no end if you would adopt a pet in need of a home in her memory. A donation to the CSRA Humane Society will also be greatly appreciated at P.O. Box 14667, Augusta, GA 30919.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Lynn Prather officiating.
