AYDEN — The Pam Pack wrestling team picked up three wins Tuesday evening in dominant fashion, including one against head coach Chris Penhollow’s former team, Farmville Central.

Coming off a middle-of-the-table finish last weekend at the Fall Beach Brawl in Vanceboro, Washington bounced back with strong individual performances across the board.

To open the dual, Washington flexed its muscles with a 54-21 win over D.H. Conley. Jacob Smith, Simeon Pope, Austin Coward, D.K. Credle, Kent Keys, Jordan Grazier and Kenny Castaneda all won their respective matches, while Marcus Sneed and Austin Koonce earned wins via forfeits. Conley’s Tillmon Hardy, Adrian Diaz and Justice Green won the last three, but the Pam Pack lead was too large to overcome at that point.

Next, Penhollow got the first look at his old team, the Jaguars, who put up the best fight of the evening against the Pam Pack. However, a few late wins from Big Blue resulted in a 53-30 victory in the second matchup. Smith, Pope, Credle, Chris Coogan and Bryant Romero all won by forfeit, while Koonce, Kent Keys, Grazier and Andrew Ferguson. Understaffed, Farmville Central actually earned more individual wins, but was underrepresented in too many weight classes.

To close the evening, Washington recorded a dominant 55-18 win over the host, Ayden-Grifton. The Pam Pack got back on track, as Smith, Pope, Credle, Cameron Davenport, Keys, Grazier, Castaneda, Ferguson, Coogan and Romero all picked up victories.

Washington returns after Thanksgiving break on Wednesday, Dec. 3 to take on Clinton, Goldsboro and South Lenoir in Deep Run.
