PUNGO CHRISTIAN ACADEMY | CONTRIBUTED PUNGO CHRISTIAN ACADEMY HONORS LOCAL HEROES: Pictured are students in Kindergarten through fifth grade singing patriotic songs, men dressed in uniforms like the ones worn by George Washington’s army, veterans and their guests and an American Flag. These components resulted in a very moving and inspirational program, honoring men and women, who have served and are still serving this great nation. One of the highlights of the program was the building of the flag, documenting the country‘s progress stripe by stripe and star-by-star as the narrator, a member of the National Sojourners, Inc., briefly recounted the 200-year history of our great nation. The grand finale featured members of the National Sojourners and the local veterans holding “Old Glory” as students in Kindergarten through fifth grades sang a song entitled “Veteran’s Day.”
