KIM BOYD | CONTRIBUTED SCOUTS HEAR STORIES: Beaufort County Girl Scout Troop 802 from Belhaven attended the Tell-A-Bration at the North Carolina Estuarium on Nov. 22. This was a national day of story telling sponsored by a local guild of storytellers. Each member presented a story of their own or one passed down to them by family members. They each had a unique style and the girls learned how many different ways a story can be told. The girls helped one storyteller with a song by holding up the animals in the air as they were named in her story. Troop Leader Elaine Hudnell feels this event gave the girls experience in getting up in front of a crowd, thus helping build their confidence. Girl Scouts helps build girls of courage, confidence and character that make the world a better place. This event seemed to really help these girls do just that. They really seemed to have a great time.
