RICHARD “RIC” SPRIGGS

 

Mr. Richard Joseph “Ric” Spriggs, age 61, a resident of 1118 Old Pamlico Beach Road East, Belhaven, NC died Saturday December 13, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 16, 2014 at Bath Christian Church officiated by Minister Merritt Watson.

The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church.

Mr. Spriggs was born in Wayne County, Michigan on June 22, 1953 son of the late Kenneth Lee Spriggs and the late Angela Teresa Krujaick Trumich.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  On December 31, 1996 Mr. Spriggs married the former Lela Goodwin Neal.  He spent most of his working life in management and consulting within the steel industry.  His last and most loved employment was at Brooks Boatworks here in Washington.  Mr. Spriggs, along with his wife, attended Bath Christian Church and considered his church his family.  He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving along with his wife Lela of the home are two sons: Phillip Kyle Spriggs and Michael Paul Spriggs both of Wayne County, Michigan; two daughters: Jennifer Monte Neal of Raleigh and Andrea Charlotte Neal of Greenville; a step-mother: Marian Spriggs of Joplin, Missouri and a step-father: Michael Trumich of Belhaven; a grandchild: Alexander Soyko of Wayne County Michigan and a special cousin: Walter Krujaick of Florida.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607.
