Gregory “Greg” Thomas Jones, 49, of Vanceboro, passed away January 16, 2015.

Greg was a Civil War enthusiast and was active with the Civil War 7th Company F reenactors.  He was a country boy who loved to fish, hunt and had a love for his Farmall tractor.  He loved history and was a true American.  Grilling and cooking was his passion.

He is survived by his wife Terri A. Jones of Vanceboro; son Nathan Jones of New Bern; stepson Ernie Bradgon of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; parents Lenwood and Mary Ellen Jones of Vanceboro; brother Preston Jones of Leland, NC and sister Sherry Francis of Williamsport, PA.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at Pinetree Cemetery in Caton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Charlotte, NC  28207.
