Wilma Gray Gibbs, 79, of 9474 North Lake Road, Fairfield, NC, passed away at her home early Monday morning, January 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving children.
She was the daughter of the late Ellis O. and Nannie Sanderson Gibbs. She was married to Curtis Ray Gibbs who preceded her in death.  Wilma was a school bus driver for Hyde County Schools for 19 years and was honored by receiving the safety award in 1995 and 1998. She touched many lives while driving the school bus. She loved crafting and gardening, and was an avid reader.  Her family was very important to her and she was a supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a great listener, and always there to give that tough love advice that was needed. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and will be missed by many.
Survived by a son, C. R. Gibbs, Jr. and wife, Luana of Engelhard; three daughters, Vickie Porter of Greenville, Karla Ishak and husband, Joseph of Garner and Stella Gibbs of Raleigh; her daughter-in-law, Pamela S, Gibbs of Fairfield; a brother, Linwood R. Gibbs of Goldsboro; a sister, Nancy Jefferson of Washington; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Rodney R. Gibbs; brothers, J. T. Gibbs and Leon Gibbs; sisters, Clara Spencer, Juanita Spargur and Yvonne Karm.
The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter on Wednesday evening, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and other times at the home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery.  Steve Bryan will officiate.
