From Beaufort County Schools

 

The Beaufort County Board of Education approved the recommendation naming Lynn Harrold as the new Executive Director of Financial Services during the January 26 board meeting. She will follow Steve Toler, current director, who will retire at the end of this month.

“I am very pleased and excited to be joining the team at Beaufort County Schools,“ Harrold explained. “And I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such an outstanding group of individuals.”

Harrold brings an extensive background in school and corporate finance to the position, most recently serving as Finance Officer for Jones County Schools. “Her deep background and experience in North Carolina school finance will be an incredible benefit to our school system,” said Dr. Don Phipps, Superintendent of Beaufort County Schools. “We are fortunate to have a very strong Finance Staff in our district and I know Ms. Harrold will only build upon our existing good practices and help us strengthen areas needing attention.”

Steve Toler, the current Executive Director of Financial Services, joined Beaufort County Schools in October of 2012 and will retire at the end of February. “Steve Toler has been an asset to Beaufort County Schools and we are appreciative of his service to our district,” according to Phipps. “We wish him well as he journeys into retirement.”

Harrold will officially join the district on March 2.
