Mr. Bobby Dale Woolard, age 76, a former resident of Slatestone Road, Washington, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, conducted by Marty Alligood. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Preston Alligood, Jerry Alligood, Steve Woolard, Shane Whitley, Stephen Whitley, Stewart Whitley, Bradley Narron, and Jesse Narron. Thorne Baynor, Alger Woolard and Scott Woolard will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 2, 1938. He was the son of the late George Ore Woolard and Kathleen Boyd Woolard. Mr. Woolard was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Woolard retired from DuPont in Kinston in 1996 with 31 1/2 years of service as an R & D operator. Mr. Woolard was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ.

Mr. Woolard is survived by his daughter, Lisa Woolard Narron and husband, Brad of Southport; his brother, Danny Ray Woolard of Hertford; his sister, Anna Kay Whitley and husband, Mitchell of Washington; three grandchildren, Bradley Narron of Darlington, S.C., Katie Narron, and Jesse Narron both of Southport and three nephews, Shane Whitley and wife, Kara, Stephen Whitley and wife, Debbie, all of Washington, and Stewart Whitley and wife, Anna of Kinston.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and other times at his home, 3885 Slatestone Road, Washington.
