BOBBY DAVIS GIFTS GALORE: Eight P.S. Jones Middle School students celebrated their 13th birthdays with a party at the Washington Civic Center on the evening of Jan. 30. The invitation they sent out to guests included the statement, "Please consider a donation to the Beaufort County Humane Society." The girls decided to try to raise money for the Humane Society in lieu of gifts. The response was overwhelming. They raised $673 and presented the money to Kristen Peed, a Humane Society Board member. She indicated that the funds would go toward the organization's spay and neuter program. Pictured are the birthday girls from left to right: Emme Davis, Elisa Wilkins, Gray Perry, Mia Pagnani, Hanna Grace Respess, Grace Paszt, Emily Manning and Abbi Tucker.
