Linwood Nelson Swanner

March 10, 1941 – March 17, 2015

 

Linwood Nelson Swanner, age 74, a former resident of Pinetown passed away on March 17, 2015.  Mr. Swanner was born in Beaufort County, NC on March 10, 1941 to the late Grover and Isavene Swanner. He attended Beaufort County Schools.

On April 6, 1996, he married the former Gladys Sadler, who predeceased him in 2010.  He retired as a logger.  He is survived by his children, Tammy S. Comfort (Ken) of Bath, NC; Jennette S. Cilluffo of Washington, NC; Larry Wayne Swanner (Christy) of Pinetown, NC and David Anthony Marquez (Kristen) of Pinetown, NC.  He is also survived by sister Evelyn S. Turner of Washington, NC; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, David Nelson Swanner; brothers Ernest Swanner, James Swanner, Vernon Swanner, Edward Swanner and Fenner C. Swanner; sisters, Kathlyn Dumboski and Nellie Swanner; and son-in-law, Antonio Cilluffo.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service. The service will be officiated by Pastors Todd Parrish and Youth Pastor Darren Walker.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations and other times at the home at the home of Jennette Cilluffo, 414 Crown Drive, Washington, NC.
