FOUNDATION FACES: Serena Sullivan with program chairman Betty Gray.

The Washington Rotary Club met at the Washington Yacht and Country Club on Thursday evening. President Brad Davis welcomed the members and guest Rick Gray. Song leader Todd Williamson lead in the singing of America. Program Chairman Betty Gray introduced the speaker, Serena Sullivan who is the new executive director of the Beaufort County Community College Foundation. Sullivan spoke about the recently completed Gull Fest, which was held at the college this past weekend, and the roll that the Foundation plays in support of scholarships and emergency aide to students. The Foundation also sponsors travel and entertainment trips, such as the one currently traveling to Ireland; and periodic trips to see Broadway Play in Durham. Following her remarks, President Davis presented Sullivan with the highly coveted Rotary pen.

Bill Wall gave the Health and Happiness Report. Bill Wall also passed out posters to advertise the upcoming Rotary Fishing Tournament which will be held the first weekend in June at Havens Gardens where cash prizes will be awarded for the three largest (by weight) game fish caught by adults, and the three largest fish (by weight) of any variety of fish caught by children.

The meeting concluded with the members saying the Four Way Test of the things we think say and do.
