From the City of Washington

As part of the state-required regular maintenance of the distribution system, the City of Washington will be feeding free chlorine into the city’s water system from Monday throughJune 1. Some customers might notice a slight increase of chlorine taste and odor.

Fire hydrant testing will also take place the week of June 1. Testing will involve flushing water from fire hydrants. You may notice some cloudiness in your tap water during the testing period due to sediments floating in the water lines. The discoloration is harmless and will clear up after a short period.
