10th annual Hoops Shootout draw crowd

Saturday, the 10th annual BCDC Hoops Shootout drew a crowd to Fitness Unlimited in Washington to watch a showdown of basketball talent. The event is one of two fundraisers the Beaufort County Developmental Center puts on each year to fund activities programming for its clients.

Each player is given a time limit to make as many baskets as possible. Those with the most points move to the next round, where the play gets significantly more difficult as players must make shots from many angles.

Approximately 26 players signed up for the chance to win a first prize of a 6-month membership to Fitness Unlimited, while a children’s round was introduced this year, the young ones wowing the crowd with their athletic prowess.
