CLARENCE R. EDWARDS

July 3, 1940 – May 10, 2015

 

Mr. Clarence Rudolph Edwards, age 74, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Sunday May 10, 2015 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday May 15, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Rev. George Jones.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday May 14, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

Mr. Edwards was born in Beaufort County on July 3, 1940 son of the late Israel Harding Edwards, Sr. and the late Dellie Alice Jones Edwards. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School. On February 18, 1961 he married the former Barbara Ann Taylor who preceded him in death on September 11, 2012. Mr. Edwards was Vice President and Director of Manufacturing at Singer Furniture of Chocowinity at the time of his retirement. He was a member of Chocowinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son: Timothy Edwards of San Francisco, CA; a brother: I.H. “Ike” Edwards of Chocowinity and two sisters: Edna E. Teall of Iron City, GA and Lonie Alice E. Boyd of Grimesland.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorials to be made to either the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515 Northampton, MA 01061 or to the National Emphysema Foundation, 128 East Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851.
