Northside FBLA students attend the 61st State Leadership Conference in Greensboro

NORTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL LEADERS IN BUSINESS: Members of Northside High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter attended the 61st State Leadership Conference in Greensboro on April 13-15. More than 1,900 high school and middle school students participated in leadership workshops and competed against each other for recognition in various business and technology events. Northside student members were very successful. Savannah Bunn placed first in the state in Business Law and Katlyn Caton placed first in Desktop Publishing. They will travel to Chicago, IL to represent North Carolina and NHS at the National Leadership Conference. Additional NHS students placing in the top 10 of the state were: Meredith Boyd, Agribusiness; Tiffany Oliver, Business Communication; Kody Jefferson, Business Math; Elaine Waters, Computer Applications; and Olivia Sawyer, Job Interview.  Students also had the opportunity to compete in open events, which allow all students at the conference to take an exam without pre-qualification. Savannah Bunn scored top 10 in the state for Multimedia and Webpage Design (MaWD). Additional NHS students, who earned proficiency (80% or higher) in the MaWD open test, were Jethzabel Alonso and Cameron Cahoon. Cameron also earned proficiency in MS Office.
