Kiwanis Club tournament funds scholarships

WASHINGTON KIWANIS CLUB The 24th annual Washington Kiwanis Golf Tournament was held the afternoon of May 22 at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. A field of 48 golfers participated in the event including teams from two local high schools. Their participation along with support from local sponsors generated needed funds for the club's scholarship programs along with funding for other community projects. The golf tournament is one of three major fundraising projects. The others include a lobster sale, scheduled for early November and the annual Washington Christmas parade. Pictured left to right is the winning team with Stuart O'Neal, Washington Kiwanis Club president; Tanner Bright, Adrian Waters and William Woolard. Eric Slade was not available for the photo. The Kiwanis Club of Washington meets each Tuesday for lunch at King Chicken on Carolina Avenue, Washington. The club welcomes prospective members who have an interest in service to the community.
