LILA GAYLE TROTTIER HILL

April 18, 1927 – July 4, 2015

 

Mrs. Lila Gayle Trottier Hill, age 88, a resident of Pinetown, NC and formerly of Fair Haven, MI Altoona, FL and Texas died on Saturday, July 4, 2015.

Mrs. Hill was born in Virginia, MN on April 18, 1927 to the late Charles Alex Lyle and Lona Florence Missman Trottier.

She attended school in Detroit, MI and was employed with Chrysler/Dodge. She was married to Edward Hill who predeceased her. She was a true inspiration to many.  Even though she was afflicted with polio, she was a life-long avid volunteer.  She took great joy in providing comfort and help to anyone in need.  She was a member of the VFW and The Eagles, a board member of the Algonac Community Action Center and a Girl Scout leader. She was a faithful Christian and a current member of Bath United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley O’Neal (Matt) of Pinetown, NC, Ann Riopelle (Bobby) of Sugar Land, TX  and L. “Gayle” Grattan of Fate, TX and her sons, Thomas “Tom” Pitrucelle (Debbie) of Sugar Land, TX, Leonard Pitrucelle (Charlene) of Fair Haven, MI and Edward Hill (Wendy) of Cedar Grove, TN.  Additionally, she is survived by her step-daughter, Anita Nasceif Willman of Magnolia, TX. She is also survived by her brother, William Trottier and her sisters, Hazel Miles, Shirley Lerchenfield, Mary Smyly, Ruth Trottier and Jeanette Hunter. She took immense pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by a host of relatives and special friends.

A local celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday,  July 10, 2015 at Bath United Methodist Church in Bath, NC,  officiated by Reverend William Creech.  A memorial service in Michigan will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Hill’s name to Bath United Methodist Church, 206 S Main St, Bath, NC 27808 or to a charity of your choice in her honor.
