Helen Irene Credle Ormond

Helen Irene Credle Ormond, age 97, a resident of Bath, died with family members at her side on Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, officiated by Curtis White and Merritt Watson. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Bath Christian Church Fellowship Hall and at other times at the home of her son, Kenneth Ormond located at 1156 Bayview Road, Bayview.
Mrs. Ormond was born on March 1, 1918 in Beaufort County, the daughter of the late Hosea Frank Credle and Zinkie Zulene Mason Credle. She graduated from Bath High School in 1936. On March 20, 1937 she married Harold Blane Ormond, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1999. Mrs. Ormond was a member of the Bath Christian Church where she was a member of the CWF Women’s Group. She enjoyed ceramics, flowers and traveling with friends and family while she and Harold were able.
Survivors include her two sons, Harold “Bud” Blane Ormond, Jr. and wife Nelda of Bath, and Kenneth Ormond and Betsy Farnsley of Bayview, NC; three sisters, Ruth Guthrie of Greenville, NC; Lula Daw of Bath, and Frances Rose of Washington; a brother, William “Mayo” Credle of Bath; daughter- in- law Gloria W. Ormond of Bath; Bo Kilpatrick of Bath, who was raised by Harold and Helen; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia O. Brickhouse and son-in-law Samuel A. Brickhouse, Jr.; a son Thomas Bowen Ormond; a sister Clara Guthrie; two brothers, George Lee Credle and Frank Edward Credle; and a grandson, Samuel A. Brickhouse lll.
