LITERACY VOLUNTEERS
A WORD OF APPRECIATION: Pictured are the manager of Pizza Inn and the Literacy Volunteers secretary/event chairman Chloe Hudson. The Board of Literacy Volunteers conducted their recent monthly meeting there and presented a certificate of appreciation to Pizza Inn for the June 29 event and the many years of support. Pizza Inn is most gracious in allowing nonprofit groups to have a fundraising evening there. The volunteers serve as waiters and waitresses for the evening, seating patrons, refilling beverages, bussing tables and more. The group receives the tips and a percentage of the evening’s receipts. Literacy Volunteers of Beaufort County is a nonprofit group of volunteers providing free tutoring to legal adults in Beaufort County in reading, writing, speaking and math.
