GIVING BACK: Jim Pounds (right), owner of Kona Ice of Greenville, presents Dr. Don Phipps, superintendent of Beaufort County Schools, with a check for $6366.63, representing the amount that Kona Ice has given back to Beaufort County Schools during the 2014-2015 school year. BCS schools that have benefited from Kona Ice fundraisers include Chocowinity Primary, John Small, Chocowinity Middle, Bath Elementary, John Cotten Tayloe, P.S. Jones and Washington High School. Because Kona Ice believes in giving back to the communities they serve, they have developed fundraising opportunities that not only provide schools with much needed funds, but also reward kids with a much healthier USDA Smart Snack approvedĀ treat option.
