The business portion of the meeting was conducted. An additional fundraiser in support of the Elizabethan Gardens will include the selling of the finest fall planting flower bulbs from Terra Ceia Farms.

This month’s program was entitled “Art in the Garden.” Multi-talented club members were encouraged to share their garden art. Paintings, pottery, stained glass and other arts were displayed. Members thoroughly enjoyed the presentation.

The meeting closed with Nancy Nash presenting the bench show, “Summer’s End.” The next meeting will be held at the senior center on Oct. 9. The beekeepers’ association will present the program discussing the challenges and rewards of bee-keeping in eastern North Carolina. The meeting adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
