The Washington Daily News has partnered with the U.S. Postal Service for delivery of the newspaper to subscribers in select parts of Beaufort County and nearby communities.

The change is effective Dec. 1 for most home delivery customers with delivery addresses in Bath, Belhaven, Plymouth, Blounts Creek, Pinetown, Aurora, Williamston, Grimesland, Roper, Edward, Engelhard and Swan Quarter.

Most home delivery customers in Washington and Chocowinity will continue to be served by independent newspaper carriers.

“Partnership with the U.S. Postal Service allows us seamless, same-day delivery directly to our customers’ mailboxes in local communities outside of Washington and Chocowinity,” said Washington Daily News publisher Ashley Vansant. “Whenever you get your mail, you can expect that day’s edition of the Daily News.”

The Daily News will continue to publish six days per week, but a Monday edition will be added to replace the Saturday edition. Mail subscribers will get a jump on the weekend, with mail delivery of their Sunday edition a day early.

The newspaper remains available for purchase every day at more than 100 convenient single-copy locations including stores and newspaper racks. Those newspapers are available at the break of dawn or whenever the business opens.
