St. Thomas rector presented original painting of church

BILL AXNESS AN ORIGINAL: Reverend Diane Tomlinson (left), Rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath, was presented the original painting of St. Thomas Church, painted by Bob Timberlake in 1972. Rick Pierce (right), senior vice president of National General Insurance delivered the painting for the Jan.8 ceremony at the Historic Glebe House in Bath. National General Insurance Corporation commissioned paintings of historic churches in 13 states, including St. Thomas and the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Each year, from 1967 to 2000, National General would use a painting as the cover of the company Christmas card. In all, 31 paintings were commissioned for this project.
