S.W. SNOWDEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GREAT MAIL RACE: Bill Hampson’s fourth-grade class at S.W. Snowden Elementary School in Aurora is participating in the Great Mail Race. The goal is to mail letters written by students to all 50 states and, in turn, receive letters from each state. Each student is assigned a state to research using the website, www.nces.ed.gov/globallocator. The student chooses a city and a corresponding elementary school in that city. A brief letter from each student, instructions and a questionnaire are enclosed in each envelope and mailed to their respective schools. The students are all very excited to receive return letters and are looking forward to achieving their goal of mailing letters to all 50 states.
