Mr. Jack Allan Clark, age 65, a resident of the Ponzer Community, Belhaven, died peacefully at his home Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven, conducted by Pastor Paul Edwards and Pastor Linda Taylor. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.

Jack was born in Hobart, NY on October 6, 1950, the son of the late Marshall Clark and Doris May Champlin who survives. He was a retired Horticulture instructor with the Hyde County Correction Center in Hyde County for ten years. Jack loved animals, nature, plants, people and his favorite hobby, carpentry.

Living in Hyde County, Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also interested in genealogy. In 1979 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville.

On May 23, 1970 he married Elizabeth (Liz) Amelia Slicer; they shared a wonderful, happy forty-five year marriage.

Jack is survived by his wife, Liz Clark of the home; a son, Brian Christopher Clark; a daughter, Reneé Micheal Clark; his mother, Doris Clark; and a sister, Carol Clark Key of Hobart, NY.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Clark and a sister, Amy Clark Zwerlein.
