Mr. Thomas Brown “Tom” Lewis, age 73, a resident of 674 Ephesus Church Road, Chocowinity, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church and will be officiated by Michael Hill. Burial will follow in Ecklin Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis was born on January 6, 1943 to the late Gilbert C. Lewis and Elsie Gray Warren. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School. On April 11, 1972 he married Anita Lee Hodges who survives. Mr. Lewis was a 21-year retiree of the United States Air Force. He worked for Fountain Power Boats for more than 10 years in various positions. Mr. Lewis enjoyed travelling, hunting and country music. The first years of his marriage to Mrs. Anita they spent their evenings dancing. He loved the water and would stop by Cotton Patch Landing before coming home from work; he also loved his dogs, especially Lady.

Survivors include his wife Anita L. Lewis, two daughters, Judy Durbin of Chocowinity, two sons, Steven Foulk of Goldsboro, and Dale Foulk of Oklahoma, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, Jimmie Lewis of Blounts Creek, and a sister Shirley Gray Lewis Miller of Manassas, VA.
