U.S. Cellular continues to invest in its high-quality network with a new cell site in Beaufort County. The site will increase U.S. Cellular’s building coverage in the downtown Washington area and north of the city along U.S. Highway 17. The site is one of more than 380 sites U.S. Cellular has built across the state.

“At U.S. Cellular, we focus on providing the best wireless experience for our customers in Beaufort County through a high-quality network with national coverage along with the latest 4G LTE devices,” said Jeremy Taylor, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in eastern North Carolina. “We care about our local communities, and we will continue to invest in our network so your phone works whether you are in your backyard or across the country.”

U.S. Cellular keeps customers connected to a 4G LTE network with devices for a variety of consumer and business needs that include smartphones, such as the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S 5, tablets, such as the iPad Air 2, as well as hotspots, vehicle monitoring, home phone solutions and machine-to machine (M2M) technology.

To select locations for new cell sites, U.S. Cellular has teams of system performance engineers who drive through the company’s network coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, to test the signal strength and call quality. The company also listens to customer feedback to help identify the communities that would benefit from another cell site.
