S.W. SNOWDEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GOOD TEETH: The kindergarten through second-grade classrooms at S.W. Snowden Elementary were in for a treat for their teeth when they received a surprise from Deborah Grzeslo, RDH, who came to do their dental screenings. Students enjoyed a read aloud about dental health, acted out how to properly brush their teeth and answered some questions about dental health. Each child had his or her screening and then was given a toothbrush and floss to use these skills at home. State objectives covered by the visit include: illustrate proper tooth brushing techniques (kindergarten); summarize the transition between primary and permanent steps for seeking help for dental problems (first grade); recall the benefits of good dental health (second grade); and execute the proper techniques for brushing teeth (second grade).
