From Washington Harbor District Alliance

Washington Harbor District Alliance, a nonprofit organization involved in actively promoting economic development in the town’s business district, has launched a month-long campaign to encourage more widespread participation in its ongoing efforts.

The campaign asks the question, “Are You All In?” to residents, property owners, merchants and anyone who wishes to help downtown revitalization and offers membership to “Friends of the Alliance.”

“We’ve gained a great deal of momentum recently, and we’re planning several projects and events that we believe will have an impact on Washington’s historic downtown,” said Harold Robinson, WHDA executive director. “Recruiting new members will certainly help fund these projects and enhance the likelihood of achieving our goals.”

WHDA has recently seen increased optimism in the future of Washington’s historic downtown district while working with local businesses and property owners and now aims to springboard the prevailing trend into a greater profile and a wider base of potential shoppers, diners and visitors.

The organization plans to strengthen its effectiveness by first increasing membership, thus allowing it to undertake more ambitious goals this year.

Anyone who would like to learn more about how to help WHDA’s efforts is encouraged to call or email whda@washingtononthewater.com or visit www.whda.org for more information.

WHDA is an organization comprised of community leaders and volunteers whose mission is to improve economic conditions in our community by serving as a facilitator and catalyst to renew, restore, rebuild and invest in the downtown district.

WHDA promotes Washington’s downtown as a place to live, shop, work and be entertained, all within the framework of the “National Main Street Four Point Approach.”
