Mr. Harry Lee Booth, 66, of 2269 Ripp Highway West, Acre Station community, Plymouth, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Northside High School with Elder Leonard Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Broad Creek Cemetery, Pantego.
Mr. Booth was born in Beaufort County on April 10, 1936. He was the son of the late Henry Hunter Booth Sr. and Sarah Becton Booth. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. He retired in August 2001 after 32 years with Weyerhaeuser Company Fire Department. He was also associated with the Pinetown Fire Department and was owner/operator of various small businesses. On March 1, 1954, he married Delois O'Neal Booth, who survives. He was a member of Mount Calvary Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Acre Station community, where he served as a trustee.
Survivors include two daughters, Sophia Gray of Chesapeake, Va., and Doretha Evertz of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nine sons, Harry Slade of Belhaven, Ronnie Booth of Chocowinity, Henry Booth, Jimmy Booth, Charles Booth and Frazier Booth, all of Greenville, Billy Booth of Plymouth, Gregory Booth of Queens, N.Y., and Neal Booth of Washington; six sisters, Annie Jones of Newport News, Va., Rosa Minor of Edward, Carrie Randolph and Daisy Bailey, both of Plymouth, and Catherine Everett and Revonda Fields, both of Portsmouth, Va.; three brothers, Henry Booth Jr. of Plymouth, Samuel Booth of Pantego and Charlie Booth of White Plains, N.Y.; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
