Mr. Cecil Ray Sullivan, 70, of 1492 Respess Road, Pinetown, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, with Dennis R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.
The following will serve as active pallbearers: Kenneth Cox, Fernie Oliver, Butch Oliver, Kevin Everett, Horace Waters and Bobby Wallace. Glenn Everett and Ray Oland will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Sullivan was born in Beaufort County on March 12, 1932. He was the son of the late Joseph Moye Sullivan and Sarah Adelaide Boyd Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was the retired owner and operator of Sullivan's Body Shop. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany while in service. Mr. Sullivan was a member of Everetts Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He was a former member of the Pinetown Ruritan Club.
On Feb. 15, 1952, Mr. Sullivan married the former Hulda Cullifer, who survives.
Survivors include his wife, Hulda Cullifer Sullivan of the home; two sons, Anthony Ray Sullivan, Keith Dale Sullivan and wife Donna Cutler Sullivan, all of Pinetown; one daughter, Deborah Sullivan Boyd of Washington; seven grandchildren, Briana Gay Sullivan, Greta Day Sullivan, Adam Ray Sullivan, Matthew Case Walker, Jonathan Ray Sullivan, Justin Dale Sullivan and Erika Lynn Sullivan; five brothers, Lewis Henry Sullivan, Lee Sullivan, Lester Sullivan, Larry Sullivan and Gary Sullivan and two sisters, Janice Wright and Mildred Sullivan.
Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Sullivan.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and at other times at the home.
