Mrs. Fannie Laura Tuten "Tinsie" Mason, 88, of 1378 Sparrow Bay Road, Blounts Creek, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at her home.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Paul Funeral Home of Washington with pastor Ray Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Mason's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Mason was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 7, 1914, to the late James Abender Tuten and Dora Tetterton Tuten. On Dec. 19, 1932, she married Andrew Shanklin Mason, who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1995. Mrs. Mason was a retired housekeeper having worked at the Beaufort County Home for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy M. Snider of Blounts Creek; four sons, Donza F. Mason of Pinetown, Carlton L. Mason of Blounts Creek, Kenneth R. Mason of Plymouth and David W. Mason of Bath; two sisters, Bessie Gibbs of Washington and Hallie Jones of Pinetown; one brother, Roy Tuten of Chocowinity; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home.
