Mr. Clifford Harvey Caraway Jr., age 59, a resident of 66 Trails End North, Washington, died in the Beaufort County Hospital, Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens conducted by the pastor Stanley Wingard. The following will serve as pallbearers: Mike Asby, Greg Tuten, Phillip Tuten, Keith Gering, Juan Jimenez and Jesse Boyd.
Mr. Caraway was born in Pamlico County, Oct. 6, 1943, to the late Clifford Harvey Caraway Sr. and the late Mabel Marie Caraway. He was married to the former Betty Baker on Oct. 4, 1962, who survives. Mr. Caraway had lived in the Beaufort County area for the past 30 years. He was self employed and worked with most of the flea markets in the area.
Surviving with his wife is one son, Clifford "Harvey" Caraway III and his wife, Laura, of Washington; and one daughter, Sylvia Anne Hensley and husband, Michael, of Arkansas; three brothers, David Caraway of Chocowinity; Gerald Caraway of Tarboro and William Caraway of Alabama; two sisters, Marie McRoy and Joan Nicholson, both of Chocowinity; five grandchildren, Amy Asby, Tiffany Barrow, Matthew Barrow, Makala Caraway and Ashley Caraway; and two great-grandchildren, Destiny Barrow and Hali Asby.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Feb. 26, 2003, at the Paul Funeral Home in Washington and at other times at the home of the son, Harvey Caraway, located at 136 Perkins Road, Washington.
