Mr. Sidney Thomas Blanchard Sr., of 1423 Effie Road, Memphis, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Faithful Hannah Baptist Church with the Rev. Irvin Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Memorial Cemetery, Engelhard.
Mr. Blanchard was born in Tyrrell County on Nov. 9, 1927. He was the son of the late Calvin Blanchard and Pearlie D. Howard. He had been employed as a security officer. He served in the Army.
Survivors include one son, Sidney T. Blanchard Jr. of Georgia; seven sisters, Lillian Harris of Norfolk, Va.; Helen Hickman of New Bern; Josie Merritt, Betty Whitaker and Alice Faye Hooker, all of Swan Quarter; and Millie Young and Ella V. Spencer, both of Engelhard; and four grandchildren.
