Mrs. Clara Jones Leggett, 86, of 105 Mill St., Robersonville, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert E. Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Robersonville Cemetery.
Mrs. Leggett was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 7, 1916. She was the daughter of the late E.H. and Nancy J. Ross Jones. In 1933, she married Thomas B. Leggett Sr., who preceded her in death on April 7, 1984. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Robersonville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Thomas B. Leggett Jr. and his wife, Faye, and Clifton Earl Leggett and his wife, Lorene, all of Robersonville; Buddy Leggett and wife Frances of Raleigh; Vernon Lee Leggett and wife Callie of Greenville; and Cecil Wayne Leggett and his wife, Beverly, of Washington; one daughter, Nancy L. Walls and husband Donald of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Wendell Jones and wife Shirley of Black Jack; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and at other times at the home.
