Ms. Carolyn N. Bullock, age 35, a resident of 704 Highland Drive, Sanford, N.C., and formerly of Washington, N.C., a loving daughter, sister and aunt went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2003.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Washington conducted by the Rev. Dr. James A. Moore Jr. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
The family will gather with friends 7-9 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and at other times at her father's home, 119 Hillcrest Drive, Washington. Ms. Bullock was born in Washington on Jan. 29, 1968, the daughter of Sammie Smith Bullock Sr. and the late Margaret Ann Jones Bullock. She was a 1985 graduate of Washington High School. In 1989, she graduated from East Carolina University, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing; in 1994, she earned a master's degree in nurse midwifery.
She practiced as a registered nurse in Greenville, N.C., and as a nurse midwife in Laurinburg, N.C., and Greenville, N.C. Most recently, she served as the school nurse for Auldern Academy in Pittsboro, N.C. Ms. Bullock was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Washington and professionally was a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
She is survived by her father, Sammie Smith Bullock Sr.; a sister, Alma Kay Woolard and her husband, Robin, of Laurinburg; and a brother, Sam S. Bullock Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Salisbury; and four nephews: Austin Woolard of Greenville, Scott Woolard of Laurinburg, Trevor and Landon Bullock of Holly Springs.
