Love or hate

A few days ago, March 5 to be exact, the story of Joseph Stalin's life was observed. For some the day was a cause of celebration since they probably looked upon this man's life as a time when the empire really showed its greatness. Stalin led the way for them, and he built a union the likes of which has not lived.
Then there are many Russians today who continue to talk in terms of hate for the tyrant they saw as a brutal killer and a man who used blood, tears, and brutality to achieve his place in history.
For this latter group, it would like to cast aside any celebration of Stalin's life. They look today upon him as a man who trampled over hundreds of dead bodies to gain his place in history.
Those who remember generally love or hate him.
