Mrs. Alma Gibbs Clark, age 76, a resident of 754 Indian Island Road, Aurora, NC died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at the Craven Regional Hospital in New Bern, NC.
A graveside funeral will be held 1 p.m. today, January 4, 2007, at the Warren Memorial Cemetery in Blounts Creek officiated by the Rev. Blaney Rowe.
Mrs. Clark was born in Pamlico County on June 16, 1930, daughter of the late Milton Gibbs and the late Mollie Virginia Rowe Gibbs. She attended Pamlico County Schools. Mrs. Clark married Hays Clark, Jr. who preceded her in death on March 10, 1985. Mrs. Clark dedicated her time and energy to her family as a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter: Pamela I. Brinn and her husband James Larry of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons: Hays Clark of Baton Rouge, LA and Miles Clark and Kathy of Aurora; two sisters: Mavis O’Neal of Bayboro and Diane Harris of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren: Cindy Bonner, April Prest, Craig Brinn, Shawn Clark and Dawn Clark; nine great grandchildren: John, Sean, Jennifer, Luke, Jake, Anna, A.J., Michael and Elijah and a special friend and caretaker Patty. The family appreciates all prayers and acts of kindness shown to their mother and grandmother during her illness and a special thank you goes to Aunt Veda, Hix and Celia.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
