Alexander F. “Naildriver” Snell

Mr. Alexander Franklin “Naildriver” Snell, 75, of Columbia, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, with the Rev. Robert May officiating. Burial will follow in Paramore cemetery.
Mr. Snell was born in Washington County on Feb. 26, 1931. He was the son of the late Alexander F. and Bessie Hassell Snell. He was an Army veteran. He was married to Joyce Sawyer Snell, who survives. He was a retired building contractor. He attended Malachi Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Elsie S. Sawyer of Columbia and Louise A. Phelps of Buies Creek.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, and other times at the home.
