GASTONIA — Marion Hoke Davis, Jr. 62, of, Gastonia, N.C., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Whiteville, N.C. and was the son of Doris Bullard Davis and the late Marion Hoke Davis, Sr..
A funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church. Rev. Jerry Bron will officiate. Interment will be at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" in Belmont
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 at McLean Funeral Directors in Gastonia.
Mr. Davis was president of Marion H. Davis Jr. and Associates, Inc. He was the owner-operator of three HoneyBaked Ham Co. restaurants. Member of First Presbyterian Church, Washington, NC. Mr. Davis was a graduate of Campbell University where he received his BS in accounting. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a longtime member of Washington Yacht and Country Club, an avid fisherman and sportsman. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by everyone he touched.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sutton Davis; daughter and son-in-law Susan and William Wollett- Rocky Mount; sons and daughters-in-law Tim and Shannon Davis of Charlotte; Matt and Julie Davis of Gastonia, Stephen and Krys Davis of Huntersville; his mother, Doris Bullard Davis of Whiteville; sister and brother-in-law Ann and Dr. Sivalingam Siva of Gastonia, six grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Ann Welch of Lakeland, Fla.; a number of nieces and nephews and a special dog, Papa's Boy Dink.
