Mrs. Polly Boyd Wallace, age 101, a former resident of Pinetown died Friday January 5, 2007 at Britthaven Nursing Home of Washington.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday January 9, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Bobby Gene Wallace. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Great grandsons; Shawn Kayton, Jesse Wallace, Troy Credle, Colby Wallace, Joshua Baynor, Trey Atkins, Dustin Asby and Earl Foster, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Beaufort County on November 1, 1905 daughter of the late Henry Clay Boyd and the late Mary Gay Boyd. She married Freddie Clarence Wallace who preceded her in death on October 29, 1951. She was a homemaker, a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ and a former member of the Pinetown Senior Club.
Survivors include two Sons: Clarence Wallace and wife Janice of Chesapeake, VA and Dalton Wallace and wife Nancy of Yeatesville, GA; six grandchildren: Linda Credle and husband Marvin, Teresa Kayton and husband Buddy, Allen Wallace and wife Cindy, Fredda Foster, Tamara Jarvis and Micah Wallace and wife Amy; nineteen great grandchildren: Sarah Starling, Lily Wallace, Tiffany Parker, Jan Bendigo, Shawn Kayton, Jennifer Becker, Jesse Wallace, Troy Credle, Amanda Credle, Kelly Wallace, Shannon Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Colby Wallace, Brooke Baynor, Joshua Baynor, Trey Atkins, Dustin Asby, Earl Foster, Jr. and Harli Foster and nine great great grandchildren: Charlie, Scotty, Taylor, Conner, Lauren, Kelsey, Cailyn, Haley and Gracie. Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by a daughter: Janice W. Baynor on March 12, 1997; three sisters: Mary Elizabeth Lilley, Delphia Henrietta Boyd and Nettie Mae Wallace and 10 brothers: Henry Edwin Boyd, Claudius Atkinson Boyd, Heber Gay Boyd, Fenner Howard Boyd, Lawrence Lafayette Boyd, Aaron Windley Boyd, Ottis Carlyle Boyd, William Rodman Boyd, Mark Adolphus Boyd and Dennis Woodrow Boyd.
The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday January 8, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
