Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Warren Vanlandingham, 82, of 106 Sunset Ave., Williamston, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Martin General Hospital, Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, with the Rev. Dr. David L. Wyly officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Vanlandingham was born in Martin County on July 30, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Maybelle Roberson and Howell Warren Sr. She was married to John Foster Vanlandingham, who preceded her in death. She was the owner of S &V Supermarket. She put in more than 3,000 hours of volunteer work with Martin General Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Williamston Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the senior circle and former treasurer.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen V. Woodlief of Durham; one son, Mike Vanlandingham of Williamston; one sister, Faye Warren Altman of Georgetown, S.C.; two brothers, Wallace Warren of Sewell, N.J., and Russell Warren of Montgomery, Texas; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra E. Vanlandingham and one brother, Howell Warren Jr.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the home.
