Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth “Lib” Ward Davis, 81, of 138 Governor Eden House Road, Merry Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
A memorial service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in Cashie Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Byrd and Al Morris officiating.
Mrs. Davis was born in Chatham County on June 23, 1925. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Nell Goodwin Ward. She was married to Dr. Robert A. Davis, who preceded her in death. She was the former office administrator for her husband. She was a member of Cashie Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jo D. Johnson of Merry Hill; two sons, Dr. Alden Davis and Lt. Col. Brian Davis, both of Merry Hill; one brother, Al Ward of Cape Carteret; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 3:30-5 p.m. today following the memorial service at the home.
