WILLIAMSTON — Mr. Sherman Edgar Long Jr., 77, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Holly Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Lonnie Hedrick officiating.
Mr. Long was a graduate of Duke University where he received a CPA degree. He worked with Collins &Aikman for a number of years. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of the Holly Springs United Methodist Church.
On December 22, 1950, he married Sallie Hardison Long. Survivors in addition to his wife are daughters, Beverly Long of West Orange, N.J., Lisa Lieb and husband Richard of Chester, N.J., Inez Long of Houston, Texas, and Anna Sullivan and husband John of Clinton, Connecticut; son, Robert Sherman Long and wife Vickie of Cape Coral, Florida; half sister, Faith King of North Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren, Jasmin Suitt, Cynthia Lieb, Richard Lieb, Christopher Lieb, Rich Gordon, Casey Sullivan, Josie Sullivan, and Deana Kellermaier; great-grandchildren, James Lightsey and Jared Suitt.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the residence, 21740 U.S. Hwy. 64, Williamston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holly Sprngs United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Biggs Funeral Home.
