Josephine Braxton Williford, 57, of 424 U.S. Highway 13 North, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edgewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
Mr. Williford was born in Bertie County on Jan. 26, 1949. He was the son of the late Battle Braxton and Tulie White Williford. He was a basketball, softball and golf coach at Lawrence Academy. He was married to Linda Pierce Williford, who survives. He served on the Lawrence Academy board. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and served there as a deacon.
Survivors include one son, J. Braxton Williford Jr. of Holly Springs; one daughter, Cecilia Williford of Raleigh; and one sister, Janet W. Holland of Merry Hill.
The family will receive friends tonight at Walker Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 and other times at the home.
