Mrs. Blanche Hodges Edwards, age 84, a resident of 1155 Edwards Road, Chocowinity, NC died Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday January 17, 2007 at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville officiated by Pastor Henry Horne.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Pitt County on April 18, 1922 daughter of the late Matthew Samuel Hodges and the late Nettie Sutton Hodges. She married Isaac G. Edwards on September 8, 1953 who survives. Mrs. Edwards dedicated her life as a wife and mother who, along with her husband, supplied the needs of her family not only around the home but also on the family farm. She was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of Chocowinity and a member of her Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
Surviving along with Mrs. Edwards’ husband Isaac of the home is a daughter: Ann E. Clark and her husband Tommy of Chocowinity; a sister: Frances H. Meeks and her husband David of Grimesland; a brother: Sam Hodges and his wife Lucille of Black Jack and two grandchildren: Stacey C. Bryant and her husband Jim Bob of Winterville and Scott Clark of Chocowinity.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Mrs. Edwards’ daughter, Ann Clark, located at 7349 U.S. Hwy. 17 South, Chocowinity, NC
