Mrs. Doris Everett Canady, age 82, a former resident of Pantego, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Britthaven of Washington.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington conducted by Ray West. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Chad Hewitt, Todd Cutler, Rodney Evans, Jeff Brame, Justin Sullivan, Jonathan Sullivan, Victor Waters and Bobby Gene Waters.
Mrs. Canady was born in Scotland Neck, N.C. on September 4, 1924. She was the daughter of the late John Benjamin Everett and Alice Molly Waters Everett. Mrs. Canady was a member of the Rook Club in Pantego. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Martha Circle of the church.
Mrs. Canady was married to Robert Donald Cutler, who preceded her in death. Later, she married Walter Canady, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Morgan and her husband, Randall, Gail Evans and her husband, Coy all of Washington; two sisters, Annie Mae Ambrose and Faye Waters both of Bath; daughter in law, Leara Cutler of Pinetown; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Canady was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray Cutler; two sisters, Agnes Everett and Ethel Boyd; and two brothers, Vernon Everett and Colman Everett.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Sheila Morgan, 5216 River Road, Washington, N.C. 27889.
